Luxe Beauty Serum

I've been using essential oils for several years now and have never made myself, at home, a truly "luxe" beauty serum. I've used frankincense + lavender before (these come in the popular starter kit), and I've added drops of frankincense to my existing moisturizer. I've also acquired a pre-made rose essential oils serum which is totally divine! If you have only ONE oil to choose from for a serum, use rose!

I'm forty so of course beauty regimens take a greater priority these days. The easier the routine, the better!

So, I did a little research in my essential oils reference guide and came up with this list of oils I have on hand that are very beneficial for helping reduce the appearance of fine lines and for brightening the skin. This is not an exhaustive list but gives you an excellent starting point.

Also, don't worry if you don't have all of these on hand. Feel free to experiment on your own and make adjustments. Remember, if you want to keep it simple and use one oil, go for rose! I wanted my recipe to be able to be used morning and night, so I left out any oils that could cause a sensitivity in the sun (citrus oils especially will have this affect).

Paige's Beauty Serum Essential Oils

  • Frankincense

  • Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood

  • Lavender

  • Patchouli

  • Manuka

  • Blue Cypress

  • Geranium

  • Carrot Seed

  • Rose

I had a bunch of extra essential oil bottles I had cleaned, so I used a 15-ml bottle for my serum. The top is a metal roller ball fitment from Young Living which makes application to my face a breeze!

Recipe

To a 15-ml bottle, add the following ingredients:

  • Frankincense (55 drops)

  • Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood (40 drops)

  • Lavender (30 drops)

  • Patchouli (25 drops)

  • Manuka (20 drops)

  • Blue Cypress (15 drops)

  • Geranium (15 drops)

  • Carrot Seed (15 drops)

  • Rose (2 drops)

  • V-6, jojoba, or avocado carrier oil (3-4 pumps of V-6)

How to Use

Roll the serum on your face after toning. If you skip toning (which should come after cleansing), do it after cleansing. It might be just a night-time routine, or you may find your face needs the nourishment in the morning, too. Add moisturizer after the serum, or you may find that this is moisture enough! ENJOY this pampering. You deserve it!

Have you tried a serum like this? I'd love to hear your ideas below!

P.S. This recipe also makes an amazing perfume! Put it behind your ears and on your wrists. Imagine the scent on your face or as perfume—the benefits for your emotions are difficult to put into words!

Make the Effort Without Guarantees

Effort This quote from Dani Johnson is true in so many types of goals in life: fitness, wellness and business come to mind the most! Do you really believe you can do it? Do you feel you're worth it?  Are you ready to put forth the work and commitment to feel better, have more energy, or achieve your dreams in business? "Ninety-eight percent of the population won't put forth the effort to do something until they know what they are going to get out of it. They are looking for guarantees."   - Dani Johnson We have to try! Keep consistent work each day or week. Continue learning. Keep an open mind. You can not fail if you do not quit! For me, it applies to my wellness goals and my business goals. I'm constantly learning and don't want to give up! What about you? To what area of life does this speak?

Oscillococcinum

Oscillococcinum is another tool in our toolbox that we have on hand, particularly in the winter time. If we know we've been exposed to the flu, we use it prophylactically (half of a tube). It's a safe, homeopathic remedy for flu symptoms and can reduce the length of time you have the flu. We dose it with elderberry syrup , among our other immune supporting supplements. When sick we also work to eliminate sugar and processed foods since simple carbohydrates and sugar are essentially poison  and won't benefit our immune system. From the oscillo.com manufacturer website: Temporarily relieves flu-like symptoms such as body aches, headache, fever, chills and fatigue. Directions: Adults and children 2 years of age and older: Dissolve entire contents of one tube in the mouth every 6 hours, up to 3 times a day. Children under 2 years of age: Ask a doctor. You can order the 30-dose family pack of Oscillococcinum below (affiliate link). I was sure to stock up this flu season!

Chalene Johnson's 30-Day Challenge

A friend recommended to me a 30-day program "Push" by Chalene Johnson to help me prioritize, organize, and achieve goals! The goals can be in anything: wellness, finances, career, relationships, or anything else in your life! I'm on Day 2 and already loving it! I could absolutely identify with her "extra push" video in day 2: "Your Priority Foundation," when she says that most people don't want to get out paper and a pen to do the work and do the exercises! I didn't want to do it, but here I am! I'm taking my notes first on ten areas of my life and giving them a score of satisfaction. It's very similar to Oola! I'm going to "put it out there" and give you my satisfaction scores. Chalene says that if you score low, that's likely an area that you're pressuring yourself to grow in! It makes sense!
